Our evolving policy for COVID-19 doctoral extension funding

Current policy

On 22 February 2021, UKRI announced it was considering further action to support doctoral students affected by COVID-19.

We have now concluded that consultation.

Phase 2 policy

On 11 November 2020 UKRI announced phase 2 of its support for doctoral students.

Phase 1 policy

Guidance from phase 1 of our support has now been replaced by the latest guidance (164KB). Details of the original support package are available in the National Archives.
