The Global Talent visa (GTV) is a UK immigration category for talented and promising people wishing to work in the UK in specific sectors such as:

  • sciences
  • humanities
  • engineering
  • arts
  • technology.

GTV replaced the tier 1 (exceptional talent) visa category in February 2020. Find out more about getting funding and visas to do research in the UK.

We are now recruiting for new members to join the GTV External Advisory Board (EAB).

The EAB is chaired by the UKRI Deputy Director for Global Mobility. It provides a forum for advice from across the research sector towards the development of the global talent scheme.

By joining the board, you will have the opportunity to help UKRI shape the development of the GTV.

ISCF Faraday Battery Challenge advisory group member vacancies

Provide strategic leadership and guidance on ISCF Faraday Battery Challenge activity.

You must have:

  • leadership experience
  • strategic delivery experience
  • technical expertise in the development and deployment of batteries or other relevant research and development (R&D) and capital intensive technologies.

You must have experience in at least one of the following sectors:

  • maritime
  • aerospace
  • rail
  • defence
  • built environment
  • off-highway automotive
  • risk investment.

ISCF Faraday Battery Challenge advisory group associate member vacancies

Start date 13 July 2021

Provide advice to help shape the future of the Faraday Battery Challenge programme. Support the work of the Advisory Group and play a key role in shaping the direction of the UK battery industry.

You must be in the early stages of your career. You must have been employed in an academic or industrial setting within the last 18 months.

GCRF Strategic Advisory Group

Closing date 8 February 2021, 10:00
Time commitment Approximately 2 to 4 days a year
Number of positions Up to 7
Length of service Up to 3 years
Start date 16 March 2021

Provide advice and guidance for the strategic development and delivery of the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF).

To apply for this role, you must:

  • have a background in international development research
  • have experience of working with developing countries
  • understand the translation and impact of research, particularly on developing countries
  • have experience in developing and implementing strategy or policy in an international development research environment
  • have experience of representing the views of the international development research community, including previous experience of sitting on relevant committees or boards.
